Welcome to Campus Space ("we," "our," or "us"). We provide a social networking and marketplace platform specifically designed for the university community. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our mobile application.

A. Personal Identification Information

We collect information that you provide to us directly when you create an account, including your full name, university email address, phone number, university name, department, current academic level, and profile pictures.

B. Identity Verification

To maintain a safe community, we may collect student IDs or other verification documents to confirm your status as a student or a verified business on campus.

C. Financial Information

When you use our Wallet, Marketplace, premium subscriptions, or ad creation features, we collect transaction details and necessary payment information to process fundings, withdrawals, escrow payments, subscriptions, and advertisement campaign billing. Full payment details are processed by PCI-compliant third-party providers (such as Paystack, Flutterwave, Apple, or Google) and are not stored directly on our servers.

D. User Content

We store the content you create, including posts in the Community Feed, marketplace listings, user-created advertisements, event details, job postings, and real-time chat messages.

E. Advertisement Interaction and Analytics

We collect analytics data regarding user interactions with advertisements displayed on our platform, such as total impressions (views), clicks, click-through rates, and interaction durations, to monitor campaign performance and deliver relevant promotions.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Core Service Provision: To create and maintain your account and allow you to interact with the platform's features.
  • AI-Driven Networking: Our algorithms use your department and interests to suggest relevant peers and communities.
  • Marketplace Security: To facilitate secure transactions and manage our escrow system between buyers and sellers.
  • Subscription & Ad Services: To process premium subscriptions, host user-created advertisements, optimize display relevancy based on interests, and track performance metrics.
  • Safety & Verification: To verify users and prevent fraudulent activities or harassment within the campus community.
  • Communication: To send you push notifications, service updates, and marketing communications (which you can opt-out of).

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With Other Users: Your profile details, posts, and marketplace listings are visible to other verified members of the community as per your privacy settings.
  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who perform services for us, such as payment processing (Paystack/Flutterwave, Apple, Google), cloud hosting, and analytics.
  • With Advertisers (Aggregated Statistics): We share aggregated, anonymized reports with users or businesses who advertise on our platform, detailing ad performance (e.g., number of views and clicks). We do not share any personally identifiable information (PII) with advertisers.
  • Legal Obligations: If required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Campus Space, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can manage your profile information directly within the app settings. For account deletion or data portability requests, please contact our support team.

7. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

We retain your personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, you can do so at any time:

  • In-App Deletion: Go to App Settings > Profile > Account Settings and select "Delete Account" to initiate permanent deletion of your profile, posts, advertisements, and personal identifiers.
  • Web/Email Request: You can submit a deletion request by emailing support@campusspace.com.ng from your registered account email.

Processing Time: Upon receiving a deletion request, we deactivate your account immediately. All personal data is permanently deleted or anonymized from our primary databases within 30 days.

Data Retention Exceptions: We may retain certain transaction records, purchase history, security logs, or compliance data for a longer period if required by law or necessary for platform security and fraud prevention.
